Presenting: Scheele's Green

Color Inspired Series - Scheele’s Green

I’m captivated by the romantic period this fall. Victorian society in all its pallid decadence, particularly for its odd parallels to our own time and place. The obsession with something so beautiful it was deadly. Scheele’s Green. The color killed even its inventor, but not before it became ravishingly popular. I created this shoot to evoke these themes. Beauty with a toxic quality. The Earthbound attempting to create their own jaded heaven.

An ordinary evening turns lurid as she succumbs, entering a fevered alternate reality.

Our model for the shoot, Olivia Martin, perfectly embodied the 19th century socialite, the young beauty enamored with the trends of the moment, slowly suffocating in a toxic environment created amid a chemical revolution.

This hazy dream to life in part due to the outstanding contribution of Xiaolin Fashion Design’s remarkable “Raven Queen” evening gown. The brands owner, Julia Chew, was on set to provide creative direction and helped with creating the overall mood and feel of the shoot.

Savage Universal provided their “Holly Green” backdrop, endlessly thankful to their team for providing the backbone for this shoot.

H/T to Molly for all your help!

Thanks so much to everyone who made this shoot possible. Please see their websites/social media below.
